Setting Up Your Household

Updated Aug 31, 2026 · 1 min read

A household connects the people you cook with. Once you're in one, your meal calendar, shopping cart, and pantry can be shared with everyone in it — changes appear for the whole household in real time.

Creating a household

  1. Open the Household tab in the main navigation.
  2. Choose to create a new household and give it a name.
  3. Invite members — each person gets an invitation to accept.

Every member keeps their own FourFork account, profile, and personal spaces. Joining a household adds a shared layer; it never merges accounts.

Joining a household

If someone invites you, accept the invitation from your notifications or the Household page. You can only belong to one household at a time.

Leaving or removing members

You can leave a household at any time from the Household page. Items you added to shared spaces stay with the household; your personal calendar, cart, and pantry are unaffected.

What gets shared

  • Meal calendar — plan the week together.
  • Shopping cart — one list for the grocery run.
  • Pantry — track what's in the kitchen you all share.
  • Saved recipe collections — build a family favorites list.
